SOS
An emergency alert a traveller can trigger from the app that reaches the captain, the operator's team and the traveller's emergency contact.
What is SOS?
An SOS feature matters only if it is both easy to trigger in a real emergency and hard to trigger by accident. A two-tap action with a confirmation avoids pocket alarms while staying usable by a frightened traveller.
What happens after the tap is the real design: who is alerted, in what order, with what information, and what the fallback is when the traveller has no data signal. SMS to the emergency contact is the usual fallback, which in India depends on a DLT-approved template.
On a live trip
Make sure every traveller's emergency contact is on the roster and is not on the same trip, and that captains know the SOS procedure before day one.
