Documents
Collect IDs and passports privately
Hotels need IDs, permits need passports, and travellers send them to whoever asks. Rahi gives each traveller a private upload slot so documents reach your team and nobody else.
without Rahi:
Today ID photos sit in a captain's personal gallery and in a chat that everyone on the trip can scroll.
What you get with documents
Upload in the app
Travellers upload their own ID or passport copy straight into their departure.
Private by default
Only the traveller and staff you authorise can view a document. Other travellers never can.
Encrypted, short-lived links
Files are encrypted at rest and opened only through signed links that expire, so a forwarded link stops working.
See who is pending
Know who still has to upload before the permit or hotel deadline.
How do I collect passport copies from a group securely?
Collect passport and ID copies through a private upload, not a group chat or personal email. In Rahi each traveller uploads their own document in the app; only they and your authorised staff can view it, files are encrypted at rest, and access is through short-lived signed links.
- One private upload slot per traveller.
- Visible to the traveller and authorised staff only.
- Encrypted at rest; links expire.
Questions about documents
How are passport and ID copies stored?
Travellers upload their own documents in the app. Documents are private by default: only the traveller and operator staff you authorise can view them. Files are encrypted at rest and opened only through short-lived signed links, so a forwarded link stops working. Other travellers can never see them.
Can other travellers see my phone number?
No. Traveller phone numbers are visible only to the operator's staff, never to other travellers on the trip. This is one of the main differences from a WhatsApp group, where every member's number is visible to every other member, including strangers on a group departure.
Is Rahi compliant with India's DPDP Act?
Rahi is designed around the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023: consent notice at signup, purpose-limited data use, trip-scoped location and erasure on request. Responsibility for compliance is shared between the operator and Rahi; see our Security page for how roles and data handling work.
