SIC vs private transfer

SIC (Seat-in-Coach) means shared transport with other groups on a fixed schedule; a private transfer is a vehicle for your group alone.

What is SIC vs private transfer?

SIC tours and transfers are cheaper and common for FIT travellers and small groups abroad: a coach picks up from several hotels on a fixed timetable. Private transfers cost more and give the group control over timing and route.

For a group operator, SIC introduces another company's timetable into the itinerary. A late traveller misses a shared coach that will not wait, which is why group departures usually run private.

On a live trip

If any leg is SIC, mark the pickup time as fixed in the itinerary and announce it the evening before; there is no buffer on someone else's coach.
