FIT vs GIT
FIT is a Free or Fully Independent Traveller booking a custom trip; GIT is a Group Inclusive Tour with a fixed itinerary and shared departures.
What is FIT vs GIT?
FIT bookings are individuals, couples or families travelling on their own itinerary, often with a private vehicle and hotels chosen for them. GIT bookings put many travellers on one fixed itinerary with a set departure date, shared transport and group rates from hotels.
Operators run the two very differently. FIT work is quoting and customisation before the trip. GIT work is operations during the trip: one plan, many people, one captain, and the risk that any individual falls out of step with the group.
On a live trip
Rahi is built for the GIT side: a departure with a roster, shared itinerary, rooming and headcounts. FIT trips can use it too, but the value is in running a group.
