Departure
One run of a trip on specific dates with its own roster, captain and bookings. A trip template becomes many departures.
What is Departure?
A trip is the plan: the itinerary, stays and inclusions. A departure is that plan on a date, with the actual people booked on it. A weekend trek might run forty departures a season from one plan; an outbound tour might run six.
Keeping the two apart is what makes an operation scale. Fixes to the plan apply to every future departure; changes for one batch, like a delayed flight or a swapped hotel, stay with that departure.
On a live trip
Everything on a live trip belongs to a departure: the roster, the rooming list, the headcounts, the announcements. The captain works one departure at a time; the ops team watches all of them.
